24K Gold Overlay Jewelry

Gold Overlay jewelry is comprised of a high quality brass base with about 30 to 40 mils of 24kt gold applied to the surface.  The 24kt gold application is done by utilizing an advance acid gold Electro-Depositing process.  This differs from Electroplating in that it has about 5-7 times the thickness, and is harder gold plating formula, which makes the jewelry more durable, long-lasting, and can be worn all of the time—even in the shower!

Gold Filled Chains

Gold filled chains are brass based, with a thin layer of gold (usually 5%) by weight bonded to the surface.  These chains wear very well, and are also quite durable.

Vermeil

Vermeil pieces have a sterling silver base that is coated or plated with minimum 100 mils of 10kt gold fineness.  This combination also makes for great wear and durability.

Rhodium

Rhodium is in the Platinum family, which means it is one of the hardest of the precious metals, is Hypo-Allergenic, and never tarnishes—can’t go wrong in this family!

Trigger Clasp

A Trigger clasp is a two-piece clasp that is attached to opposite ends of a piece of jewelry.  One part of the clasp is a small circular piece, and the other piece is a larger similar shape which can be opened by maneuvering the small lever.  It closes automatically by a spring when opened.

Lobster Clasp

A Lobster clasp is quite similar to a Trigger clasp.  It differs in that the larger piece is usually shaped like a lobster’s claw.

Toggle Clasp

Toggle clasps are two-piece clasps that are attached to opposite ends of a piece of jewelry. One part of the clasp is usually circular or any similar shape with an open center. The other part is a small bar that attaches to the other end. When you place the bar piece into the circular piece, it extends past the circle's edges to hold the jewelry in place.
